Etsy shops, part one

January 22, 2016

I lean heavily on Etsy shops. Why? Because Etsy offers unique, usually handmade, items that add a personal touch to your event. But what I love most is collaborating with the shop owners to create custom items because I meet amazing people and dream up impossible ideas that they make a reality. Here are a few of my favorite shops right now – most of which I have collaborated with and a couple I plan to soon.

1. Gold tattoos from GoldTinsel Shop

GoldTinselShop is a staple for bachelorette parties. The shop sells really fun (but also well designed) gag items like temporary tattoos, mugs, dare cards and Oh Shit Kits. Everyone needs an Oh Shit Kit. Linda is great and worked with me when we needed an extra tattoo for a last-minute RSVP.

2. Macrame from CheyenneMoonDesigns

Cheyenne makes beautiful macrame wall hangings. They would be ideal for a nursery or playroom but I ordered a floor-length hanging recently to use as a photo backdrop for a Palm Springs bachelorette party. I’m dying to share the photos next month!

3. Cake toppers from The Roc Shop

Although I have not ordered from The Roc Shop, I plan to very very soon. I just love their simple but unique laser cut cake toppers. Designs include flamingos, antlers, pineapples, and phrases like “Hell Yeah” and “It’s a Girl.”

4. Custom invitations from Allie Hasson

I cannot give Allie enough credit for her work. She created the most gorgeous, hand painted invitations for my daughter’s baptism (below). I found Allie through Pinterest because I fell in love with her watercolor stationery and featured it in this post. From there, I approached her with a crazy idea to combine elements from a few of her wedding invitation designs into one baptism invitation. The final product was better than I had imagined. And photos don’t do them justice.

5. Eucalyptus chandeliers from The Natural Shoppe

Linda was the mastermind behind the gorgeous eucalyptus chandelier from our friendsgiving gathering. She made eucalyptus wreaths but I approached her to see if she could create a draping chandelier to serve as the focal point for this gathering. She did not disappoint and has now added the chandelier to her Etsy shop so you can purchase your own for an event or to use as decor!

6. Watercolor balloons from Balloon & Paper

These watercolor balloons caught my attention on Pinterest so much so that I designed an abstract art party around them. However, Balloon & Paper also sells confetti pops, tassel garlands and unicorn piñatas and balloons. I love this shop for nicely designed paper products to add that unique touch to your party.

7. City typography postcards from Anthony & Stork

We almost used these typography postcards as invitations for a Palm Springs bachelorette party and I’m still dying to do so! Everything in Anthony & Stork is city specific like custom tote bags, mugs, and state piñatas. Although there are only a few cities available right now, I’ve seen new releases every day and I’m willing to bet you could place a custom order if you don’t see your city listed!
